ON THE WHOLE I PREFER CONVERSATIONS WITH ROCKS I've never heard a rock complain about football scores.

PERSONALITY First impressions never go well with Corbin. Critical, analytical, harsh and logical, he has a low tolerance for people right off the bat. Life has never been easy for Corbin, and the manner in which he grew up reflects heavily in how he looks at people. He trusts no one, claiming that while he doesn't know many persons well, he does know people, and they are generally to be avoided. He has a capacity for enduring kindness and empathy, though few are protected from his scathing sarcasm and tendency to push people away. He knows loss very keenly and would life very much to avoid it, thank you. He wears his sarcasm as a shield so much as a battering ram. He's never been anything but wounded by people, aside from very few, and he doesn't trust them with anything. The one exception to this rule is his current graduate student and research assistant, Terrance Smith. He found in Terrance someone he could easily relate to: a boy born of nothing, brilliant and sharp of wit, struggling to prove that pedigree and standing meant little in a cut-throat University. That and the boy loves the Earth as much as Corbin does.

ABOUT Corbin was born to Constance Amelia Marcus in an Abby outside the City of Newcastle in Northumberland, England, February 10th, 1876. Their lives were simple, but good until the spring of his 3rd year, when he was observed helping flowers grow. Because of his unnatural abilities, they were cast out. They struggled often to eat, and Corbin, as he grew older, did a lot of questionable things to keep his mother off the streets. While Constance only spoke fondly of his father, Corbin never forgave him for abandoning them to such a cruel fate. His mother took ill when he was 10 and for the next five years, he tried to find something to help her. Nothing worked. When he was 15, he tried to use the powers of the Earth to heal her, but his powers only made the cancer spread faster. After killing his mother, at least in his eyes, he made it his life's goal to learn what this curse his father left him with was actually good for. It lead to University, a doctorate in Geoarcheology, and a research grant at Stonehenge through the Imperial College in London. APPEARANCE He stands 5'10", thin but strongly built. He doesn't have the chiseled physique of a man who spends a lot of his time at the gym, but the lithe strength of someone who's spent their lives doing physical work and who may not eat as much as they should at times. His features are sharp, angular, and his face is often stubbled as he doesn't shave as often as he could. His crystalline blue eyes glitter with a sharp, cold intellect which immediately melts on the rare occasion that he smiles. His brown hair is often disheveled from constantly running his fingers through it in thought and he perpetually smells like deep earth and pipe tobacco. ABILITIES Primarily, all druids can feel and tap into the natural energies of the Earth. Corbin himself is most attuned to the Earth, rather than air or fire. He's done his fair share of exploring the energies he can feel, but he doesn't usually try to use them to create any sort of desired effect. He hasn't really since his mother died. A few examples of what druids can do can be found here! Aside from that, Corbin is very much a typical human with no combat training. He can scrap if he needs to, but he's never really cared about weapons. He's your guy if you need to know about rocks or the earth, though.
